The Gist:
Lead capacity development projects in public financial management for IMF member countries across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Ideal for senior finance/budget experts ready to advise governments on fiscal frameworks, budgeting, and digital transformation.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Lead and participate in capacity development activities in public financial management areas (macro-fiscal, budget frameworks, PFM legal frameworks, fiscal risk management, etc.)
- Coordinate and supervise technical content delivered by IMF regional centers and long-term experts; design and manage multi-year CD projects for assigned countries
- Contract and supervise short-term experts, develop donor-funding proposals, and report on project performance
- Contribute to FAD’s analytical and research work on PFM themes; develop technical guidance notes and CD tools
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: Advanced university degree (or equivalent) in economics, finance, or accounting required.
- Experience: Minimum four years of relevant professional experience required; preference for at least ten years in a senior advisory or line position within a finance ministry, international financial institution, or development partner.
- Standout Qualifications: Experience delivering capacity development in PFM across multiple countries, project management expertise, and practical knowledge of AI and emerging digital technologies in public finance are highly desirable.
