The Gist:
Support early childhood education in a Head Start program by assisting with classroom activities, janitorial tasks, and kitchen duties. Ideal for someone committed to child development and willing to take on varied responsibilities across a center.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, lesson prep, and substitute for teachers when needed
- Provide custodial support including cleaning, restocking bathrooms, and building maintenance
- Help with kitchen tasks: food prep, dishwashing, temperature logging, and food service cleanup
- May serve as bus monitor and attend required staff meetings and community events
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children; ability to follow directions, communicate effectively, and work with children with disabilities.
- Standout Qualifications: Current or former Head Start/Early Head Start parents receive preference; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple program sites or conduct home visits a plus.
