The Gist:
Support early childhood education and care at a Head Start center, assisting teachers and maintaining facilities while ensuring child safety and development. Ideal for someone committed to working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a hands-on educational environment.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Assist classroom staff with educational activities, classroom management, and support for children with disabilities
- Provide custodial support including cleaning, restocking bathrooms, and minor building maintenance
- Help with kitchen duties such as food preparation, dishwashing, and compliance with sanitation standards
- May serve as bus monitor, substitute teacher, or substitute cook as needed
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children; ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with staff and families.
- Standout Qualifications: Current or former Head Start/Early Head Start parents receive hiring preference.
