Child Protection Case Management Consultant in Emergency Response

The Gist:

Plan International seeks an independent consultant to manage child protection cases in Venezuela’s humanitarian crisis, providing case identification, assessment, individualized care plans, and safe referrals for children affected by emergency-driven risks like family separation and violence.

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Identify children needing protection and conduct risk/vulnerability assessments; register and document cases with strict confidentiality and informed consent
  • Develop and implement individualized case plans with children, caregivers, and relevant services; manage safe referrals and case follow-up
  • Support family reunification processes and strengthen community protection mechanisms through awareness-raising on violence prevention and safeguarding
  • Maintain service mapping, coordinate with public institutions and humanitarian actors, and produce monthly aggregated data reports without identifying information

What They’re Looking For:

  • Education: University degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law, Education, Sociology, Social Development, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in child protection, case management, or social work, with demonstrated experience in humanitarian contexts, disaster risk management, or emergency response and work with vulnerable populations.
  • Standout Qualifications: Knowledge of Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS), Venezuelan child protection law (LOPNNA), safeguarding, PEAS, gender/inclusion frameworks, and secure database management is preferred.
