The Gist:

Support IRI’s finance team with accounts payable, accounting operations, compliance, and audit coordination. Ideal for someone with foundational accounting experience who wants to grow in a mission-driven nonprofit environment.

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Process vendor invoices and accounts payable transactions; perform general ledger reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with funder regulations and donor requirements; assist in preparing financial reports for management and funders.
  • Support annual and program-specific audits by compiling documentation and organizing supporting records.
  • Collaborate with program teams across the organization to provide responsive financial policy guidance and administrative support.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of accounting or finance experience; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (JAMIS Prime, Costpoint, or similar ERP systems); working knowledge of 2 CFR 200.
  • Standout Qualifications: Experience with federal grant accounting, knowledge of funder regulations, or track record of identifying process improvements valued.
