Asistente de Proteccion de la Ninez

The Gist:

IRC seeks a child protection assistant to manage cases and run safe spaces for vulnerable children and adolescents in rural Venezuela. This role combines direct case management, community sensitization, and early warning identification in an emergency context.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Directly manage cases for children and adolescents, develop action plans addressing individual needs, and ensure child safeguarding principles are upheld
• Facilitate age-appropriate group emotional support services and psychological first aid, particularly for survivors of gender-based violence
• Conduct community awareness activities across fixed and mobile safe spaces to identify needs and deliver culturally appropriate interventions
• Track participation data, maintain confidential records in CommCare, and contribute to monthly activity reports

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required in psychology, social work, social sciences, or related field (officially registered with Venezuelan authorities).
• Experience: At least 2 years implementing child protection programs, case management for children and adolescents, and knowledge of protection referral pathways.
• Standout Qualifications: Prior emergency response or insecure environment experience valued; fluency in indigenous languages Wayuunaiki or Yukpa highly desirable.
