The Gist:
Help newly arrived refugees and immigrants in Spokane find jobs and achieve self-sufficiency. You’ll be the bridge between job seekers and employers, providing coaching, job placement support, and follow-up.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Conduct intake assessments and run job-readiness workshops (group and one-on-one) for refugee and immigrant clients
- Match participants with appropriate job opportunities and guide them through applications, interviews, and hiring
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers to identify placement opportunities
- Track client employment outcomes, conduct 6- and 12-month check-ins, and maintain detailed case documentation for compliance
What They’re Looking For:
- Experience: Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in multicultural settings; knowledge of U.S. job search processes required.
- Standout Qualifications: Bilingual ability (Arabic, Spanish, Swahili, Dari, Pashto, Burmese, Vietnamese, or Tigrinya) and lived refugee or immigrant experience strongly preferred; prior employment services experience a plus.
