The Gist:
Lead operational security efforts for Venezuelan Red Cross across the country, building safer access protocols and managing risk mitigation. This role is for someone committed to humanitarian work who can strengthen institutional security practices nationwide.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Conduct national-level security risk analysis and develop operational safety procedures, protocols, and guidelines for Red Cross branches
- Monitor implementation of security policies across affiliates and advise leadership on safer access strategies
- Coordinate with national disaster management systems and Movement partners (ICRC, IFRC) to maintain Red Cross inclusion and operational oversight
- Build and mentor a technical security team to ensure knowledge transfer and long-term sustainability of security practices
What They’re Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as paid staff or volunteer with Venezuelan Red Cross, plus demonstrated ability to mobilize and convene within the organization.
- Standout Qualifications: UN BSAFE training and fluency in English, French, Portuguese, or Arabic are valued; strong analytical skills and multicultural team experience preferred.
