The Gist:
Join International Medical Corps’ emergency-response roster as a physiotherapist ready to deploy within 48 hours to disaster zones. You’ll provide outpatient rehabilitation care to crisis-affected populations.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Assess patients’ physical conditions, limitations, and medical history to guide treatment
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using exercises, manual techniques, and pain-management strategies
- Provide rehabilitation services to people recovering from surgery, injury, or illness
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals; maintain accurate patient records
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), or a two-year accelerated Master’s program with a relevant bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: Must hold a valid physiotherapist license and current certification.
- Standout Qualifications: Experience in humanitarian or emergency-response settings, ability to work in resource-limited environments, and flexibility to deploy on short notice are valued.
