The Gist:
Lead strategic and operational coordination for a multi-sector health, environment, and gender resilience project in Burundi. You’ll oversee project implementation, manage consortium partnerships, and ensure gender and vulnerable-group perspectives are woven throughout.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Develop and pilot new project proposals aligned with Amagara Yacu phase 2 strategy and national priorities
- Supervise project implementation, support teams in executing activities, and adapt interventions as context evolves
- Coordinate and communicate with partners, donors, authorities, and consortium members; manage governance bodies (steering committees)
- Ensure gender integration, environmental resilience, and One Health approach across all programs; oversee M&E, annual workplans, budgets, and reporting
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: Degree in medicine or public health required.
- Experience: Confirmed experience coordinating and implementing health projects, ideally with One Health approach, epidemiological surveillance, and environmental resilience; strong experience managing multi-actor partnerships (NGOs, UN agencies, government, technical/financial partners).
- Standout Qualifications: Training in IFRC foundations (W.O.R.C., Stay Safe) and familiarity with disaster-management frameworks are a plus.
