Gender-Based Violence Specialist – DRC

The Gist:

Technical lead on sexual violence prevention and response for a humanitarian NGO operating in conflict-affected eastern DRC. You’ll shape strategy, build team capacity, and ensure survivors get appropriate care.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Develop GBV response framework and prevention strategies tailored to local communities; identify risks and protective factors through participatory mapping
• Design training, tools, and resources for protection staff on case management, community outreach, and gender-sensitive programming
• Coordinate GBV activities across multiple sites; ensure quality implementation through supervision, monitoring, and periodic field visits
• Lead data collection, analysis, and reporting on GBV trends using GBVIMS; contribute to strategic protection assessments and policy recommendations

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: Documented experience in GBV programming, protection coordination, or humanitarian response in conflict or displacement settings.
• Standout Qualifications: Experience with GBVIMS, community-based protection approaches, or adolescent/youth engagement on gender issues is valued.

Languages:

Fluent French required; knowledge of Lingala, Swahili, or other local languages a plus.
