The Gist:

Lead WHO’s Emergency Medical Teams project in Ukraine, managing day-to-day implementation, coordinating with government and international partners, and ensuring delivery of project milestones. This is for someone who thrives managing complex, multi-stakeholder health emergency programs.

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Serve as main focal point between WHO Country Office, Regional Office, Headquarters, Center for Disaster Medicine, and Ukrainian national authorities
  • Manage project implementation including workplan execution, budget monitoring, and donor reporting
  • Coordinate EMT validation pilots across regions and support development of national EMT standards and governance frameworks
  • Facilitate workshops, training events, and capacity-building initiatives including trainer-of-trainers programs

What They’re Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, emergency/disaster management, health systems, social sciences, international relations, or related field required.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in project management, health emergency programs, or public health initiatives, with proven stakeholder coordination and budget management; experience working in WHO European Region countries including Ukraine required.
  • Standout Qualifications: Direct experience with Emergency Medical Team systems, WHO EMT model, or health emergency preparedness; familiarity with multi-partner donor-funded projects; experience with WHO or UN agencies.
