The Gist:
Join the board of a grassroots charity supporting displaced communities across Greece, Gaza, and Cairo. You’ll provide governance oversight, strategic direction, and help secure funding for this female and community-led organization.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Attend board meetings every 12 weeks (roughly 1.5 hours each) and occasional additional meetings as needed
- Represent the organization publicly and act as a spokesperson when appropriate
- Contribute to strategic direction and key organizational decision-making
- Help secure sustainable and diverse funding for the charity
- Provide occasional operational support aligned with your skills and availability
What They’re Looking For:
- Experience: Familiarity with charity governance and understanding of trustee legal duties and responsibilities required.
- Standout Qualifications: Prior experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or displaced people; fundraising expertise; or committee work experience is desirable.
Good Fit If:
You’re passionate about supporting displaced communities, have sound judgment on governance matters, and can commit 6-8 hours monthly to shape strategy for an ambitious small charity. You respect confidentiality and work well in teams.
