WASH, Shelter & Infrastructure Officer (Caracas)

The Gist:

Lead emergency water, sanitation, hygiene, shelter, and infrastructure response in Venezuela following a June 2026 earthquake. This is for someone who can rapidly assess damage, distribute supplies, and coordinate reconstruction across multiple sectors.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Conduct rapid assessments of WASH, shelter, and infrastructure needs; monitor public health risks from damaged systems
• Coordinate emergency distributions of water/sanitation kits and non-food items; implement hygiene promotion and community risk communication
• Design and supervise temporary water systems, sanitation, waste management, and emergency shelter installations to humanitarian standards
• Document progress, coordinate with government and NGO partners through humanitarian clusters, and report on activities and results

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Public Health Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years implementing humanitarian WASH, shelter, or community infrastructure programs; experience supervising construction contractors and rehabilitation work required.
• Standout Qualifications: Knowledge of Sphere humanitarian standards for WASH and Shelter, familiarity with Venezuelan legal framework and international humanitarian law, or prior emergency response experience in remote areas.
