The Gist:
Lead all health programming for Medicos del Mundo in the Sahrawi refugee camps near Tindouf, Algeria. This role is for a senior clinician who can manage strategy, supervise staff, and coordinate across partners in a complex humanitarian context.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Oversee health project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation; ensure quality standards and impact orientation
- Supervise contracted health staff: training, performance evaluation, capacity building, and protocol compliance
- Coordinate procurement of medicines, supplies, and equipment; manage health information systems and data collection
- Represent Medicos del Mundo in technical coordination with Sahrawi health authorities, UN agencies, and partner NGOs
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: Medical degree (MD) or nursing diploma required.
- Experience: Field experience in international cooperation with health program management is essential; humanitarian context and Sahrawi situation knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Standout Qualifications: Project cycle management, community health, public health training, and demonstrated expertise in gender, rights-based, and intercultural approaches are highly valued.
