Career Development Specialist

The Gist:

Help refugees and immigrants break out of low-wage jobs through training, coaching, and job placement. You’ll be the primary support person guiding clients through career planning and employment success.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Assess client eligibility, build personalized career plans, and provide ongoing case management and mentorship
• Coach clients on resumes, interviews, job searching, and work readiness skills through one-on-one and group sessions
• Connect clients with vocational training, apprenticeships, and work experience opportunities; accompany them to interviews and job sites
• Cultivate employer relationships, conduct outreach, and advocate for clients’ rights in the labor market

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.
• Experience: At least one year of experience in social services, employment, workforce programming, or client counseling preferred; work with refugee and immigrant populations desired.
• Standout Qualifications: Multilingual ability (Spanish, French, Arabic, Dari, Farsi, or Pashto) and established relationships within refugee and immigrant communities are valued.
