Social Worker

The Gist:

Community-based protection role supporting survivors and at-risk populations affected by the Ebola outbreak in DRC. You’ll identify cases, provide emergency social work, and coordinate multi-sector protection services in deeply unstable areas.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Conduct community awareness, risk mapping, and identification of people facing protection risks (GBV survivors, separated children, Ebola-affected families)
• Deliver rapid emergency social work to individuals and families: assess needs, provide psychological first aid, safety planning, and referrals
• Manage GBV cases and child protection cases with safe identification, survivor-centered response, and referral to health/legal/shelter services
• Maintain confidential case files, submit weekly reports, and coordinate closely with health teams and community structures

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, human rights, or related social sciences field.
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in protection programming, GBV response, child protection case management, or integrated protection in humanitarian or development settings.
• Standout Qualifications: Previous experience in humanitarian emergencies, knowledge of Ebola-specific risks, fluency in local languages, and active community networks are valued.
