Medical Coordinator – Syria

The Gist:

Lead the medical program for Medecins du Monde’s Syria mission, overseeing primary healthcare delivery across three facilities in a complex humanitarian crisis. You’ll combine clinical expertise with strategic program management in a post-conflict setting.

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Design, implement, and monitor health activities (outpatient care, vaccination, reproductive health) across three health facilities
  • Supervise medical team performance, data collection, and analysis; manage recruitment, training, and motivation
  • Develop country strategy with headquarters, conduct needs assessments, and coordinate with government, UN agencies, and health clusters
  • Manage pharmaceuticals, budgets, donor proposals, and reports while representing MdM to external stakeholders

What They’re Looking For:

  • Education: Medical Doctor (MD) or advanced degree in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, or related health discipline required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in medical coordination or health program management, with at least 3 years in humanitarian or conflict-affected settings.
  • Standout Qualifications: Prior experience with Medecins du Monde and/or Syria field work strongly preferred; advanced qualification in public health, epidemiology, or humanitarian program management is an asset.
