General Emergency Response Coordinator – Worldwide

The Gist:

Lead and coordinate emergency health interventions for Medecins du Monde across crisis zones globally. This role is for experienced humanitarian coordinators ready to deploy to high-risk contexts and build new emergency programs from the ground up.

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Open and supervise new emergency missions; conduct exploratory assessments and stakeholder mapping in crisis zones
  • Direct field operations including finance, HR, logistics, supply chains, and security; serve as on-site security focal point
  • Maintain partnerships with local coordination bodies, authorities, and donors; identify and mitigate operational risks
  • Provide technical and operational support to country programs; develop tools and contribute to organization-wide emergency response strategy

What They’re Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Bac+5) in project management or related field.
  • Experience: At least three years in humanitarian sector as mission chief or site coordinator, including exploratory missions in emergencies, donor-funded program management, humanitarian actor coordination, and security management in volatile settings.
  • Standout Qualifications: Fluency in Spanish and/or Arabic alongside French and English; proficiency with mapping tools (Google Earth, ArcGIS); proven crisis response track record.
