The Gist:
RAND’s Contract & Grant Services team seeks a mid-level or senior contracts professional to manage complex research agreements with federal, state, nonprofit, and private sponsors. You’ll independently handle proposal review, contract negotiation, compliance, and post-award administration in a nonprofit research environment.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Review RFPs and sponsor requirements; advise research staff on proposal compliance and contractual interpretation
- Draft, negotiate, and execute research agreements (proposals, NDAs, teaming agreements, task orders) with federal and private sponsors
- Monitor active projects for compliance with sponsor and organizational requirements; manage modifications and closeouts
- Research and interpret federal regulations (FAR, CFR) and contract terms; advise management on legal risks and acceptability
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred; high school diploma/GED with 8 years (mid-level) or 10 years (senior) of relevant experience accepted as substitute.
- Experience: 4 years of relevant contract administration experience required for mid-level role; 6 years required for senior role.
- Standout Qualifications: Certification in Contract Management, experience with Workday or Salesforce, and familiarity with various federal contracting vehicle types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, IDIQ) are all pluses.
