Employment Specialist

The Gist:

Help newly arrived refugees in Phoenix find jobs and achieve financial stability. You’ll be the bridge between job-seeking clients and employers, managing the full employment journey from intake through job placement.

What You’d Be Doing:

  • Assess refugee clients’ skills and develop personalized employment plans; provide job readiness training through group and one-on-one coaching
  • Build relationships with local employers to identify job openings and match them with appropriate clients
  • Guide clients through the hiring process, monitor job performance post-placement, and troubleshoot workplace issues
  • Help clients apply for unemployment insurance benefits and maintain accurate program data and compliance reporting

What They’re Looking For:

  • Experience: At least two years of experience in case management, employment services, job placement, or business.
  • Standout Qualifications: Knowledge of the Tucson job market (note: posting says Phoenix but mentions Tucson) and bilingual fluency in a predominant local client language are preferred.

Good Fit If:

You’re a self-starter who thrives building relationships-both with vulnerable clients navigating a new job market and with employers. You’re comfortable with paperwork and data but energized by hands-on coaching and problem-solving.

Fluent English required; bilingual ability in a predominant local client language desired.
