Diplomatic Security Foreign Service Special Agent (SA) (FP-2501)

The Gist:

Federal law enforcement officer protecting U.S. diplomats, facilities, and interests worldwide. You’ll carry a badge and a gun, investigate document fraud, and manage security operations at embassies and consulates.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Provide protective security for the Secretary of State, U.S. officials, and visiting foreign dignitaries
• Lead security programs at overseas diplomatic posts; oversee Marine Security Guards and local security teams
• Investigate passport/visa fraud, counterintelligence threats, and federal crimes; prepare cases for court
• Assess physical security threats, design counter-terrorism access controls, and conduct security training

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or equivalent foreign education.
• Experience: At minimum, one year of work experience or academic achievement showing progressively increasing responsibility, plus basic knowledge of management, law enforcement, or military service preferred.
• Standout Qualifications: Law enforcement or military background, foreign language proficiency, and security/investigations experience are preferred but not required.
