The Gist:
Help refugee families in Wichita enroll young children (ages 0-5) in quality childcare and preschool. You’ll be the bridge between families, providers, and IRC’s education team.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Conduct intakes and connect caregivers with childcare options, preschools, and financial assistance programs
- Build and maintain partnerships with childcare providers and preschools to support refugee families
- Lead workshops on healthy parenting and age-appropriate child development for refugee parents
- Track program outcomes through pre/post assessments and follow-up with families to ensure plans are working
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; bachelor’s in social work, early childhood education, or related field preferred.
- Experience: No specific years required, but you need strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and data-entry systems; and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for field visits.
- Standout Qualifications: Bilingual fluency is a plus; cross-cultural competence and enthusiasm for working in multicultural settings are valued.
