The Gist:
Teach and mentor 10-15 children in an after-school program in Arequipa, Peru, combining homework help, creative lessons, and community care. Best for people who want direct, hands-on impact in education.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Provide one-on-one and small-group homework support and reinforce core academic concepts
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English, math, communication, and other subjects
- Share meals with students and guide them in maintaining their classroom space
- Prepare lesson plans, communicate with parents, and attend staff trainings
What They’re Looking For:
- Standout Qualifications: Prior NGO experience and strong intercultural communication skills are preferred.
Good Fit If:
You’re fluent in conversational Spanish, at least 18 years old, and genuinely passionate about working directly with vulnerable children. You’re independent, creative, and ready to commit 35 hours a week for at least three months in a real classroom setting.
