The Gist:
Support asylum seekers and refugees on the Greek island of Chios by helping distribute clothing, hygiene items, and essentials through a free shop and community programs. This role is for people who want hands-on humanitarian work in a high-need setting.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Staff the free shop where asylum seekers and refugees select clothing, shoes, and hygiene items
- Sort and organize donations at the warehouse
- Assemble and distribute baby baskets and landing packs of essentials to families in need
- Help with occasional distributions outside the main camp and support partner organizations serving unaccompanied minors
What They’re Looking For:
- Standout Qualifications: Prior experience with refugee assistance or humanitarian work is valued but not required.
Good Fit If:
You’re empathetic, flexible, and comfortable working in a small team in a fluid, sometimes unpredictable environment. You want direct contact with the people you’re helping and can adapt as priorities on the ground shift.
