The Gist:
Lead a multi-year effort to strengthen Iraq’s social security enforcement system by analyzing court cases, validating findings with stakeholders, and building training capacity for judges, administrators, and workers. This is a complex, multi-component project combining legal research, institutional coordination, and capacity building across Iraq’s judicial and labor systems.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Manage end-to-end coordination: contract expert resources, arrange events and logistics, provide project management, financial administration, and quality control across all components
- Strengthen an existing analytical draft on how social security entitlements are enforced; extend analysis to complaint and appeal mechanisms in four governorates
- Convene and facilitate peer-review workshops with judges, lawyers, law faculty, and social partners; produce a validated, publishable evidence base
- Design and deliver national training curricula on social security claims for judicial staff, administrators, and workers’ organizations; develop policy options for legal reform with resource and risk implications
What They’re Looking For:
- Experience: Demonstrated experience managing large multi-stakeholder projects in conflict-affected or fragile settings, with strong networks in Iraqi judicial, labor, and civil-society institutions.
- Standout Qualifications: Prior experience in Iraq’s judicial system, social protection policy, or international labor standards; fluency in both Arabic and English; ability to manage sensitive engagement with the judiciary and security-constrained governorates.
