Liaison Officer

The Gist:

Be the bridge between EMERGENCY’s Syrian hospital operations and government authorities, managing relationships, regulatory compliance, and administrative coordination in a complex humanitarian context. Ideal for someone with NGO or public-sector experience who understands Syrian bureaucracy.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Monitor political, security, and socio-economic developments in Syria and brief leadership on operational risks
• Build and maintain relationships with Syrian ministries, health authorities, and local administrations
• Manage visas, work permits, residency documentation, and professional licensing for international staff
• Prepare, submit, and track legal agreements (MoUs), registrations, and regulatory approvals with authorities

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, public administration, law, or related field preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in liaison, government relations, or humanitarian operations within NGOs or international organizations.
• Standout Qualifications: Deep knowledge of Syrian institutional and political environment, plus fluency in both Arabic and English (written and verbal).
