Site Engineer (Electrical Engineering) – Albab

The Gist:

Design, install, and oversee solar PV and electrical systems in humanitarian infrastructure projects. This role is for an engineer who can manage technical delivery in field conditions, from initial assessment through handover.

What You’d Be Doing:

• Conduct site assessments and prepare technical specs, BOQs, drawings, and single-line diagrams for electrical and solar PV works
• Supervise contractor installation, wiring, grounding, testing, and commissioning of solar systems and electrical distribution
• Inspect equipment quality and verify system performance through testing; document defects and ensure corrections before handover
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, procurement, and MEAL teams; prepare progress reports, commissioning records, and punch lists

What They’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or closely related field.
• Experience: Hands-on experience with solar PV systems (sizing, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting) and electrical components (inverters, batteries, protection devices, cabling, grounding); AutoCAD literacy and electrical drawing interpretation required.
• Standout Qualifications: NGO or humanitarian infrastructure project experience is preferred; familiarity with contractor supervision, quality control, and technical reporting in donor-funded environments is a plus.
