The Gist:
Lead program execution and operational scaling for a major agricultural NGO serving 400,000+ farmers across Burundi. This is a high-ownership role blending hands-on delivery with team management and innovation work.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Execute core program activities (training, enrollment, distribution, repayment) across an assigned region, ensuring farmers receive services on time and at quality
- Manage 1-3 medium-to-large projects from design through field execution, coordinating across departments and external partners
- Recruit, manage, and mentor a multi-level team of Field Directors, Specialists, and Coordinators, driving both performance and professional growth
- Identify and pilot improvements to farmer impact, program quality, or cost efficiency; analyze results and recommend refinements
What They’re Looking For:
- Experience: Strong track record of independent project management, multi-level team leadership, and data-driven decision-making in complex field environments.
- Standout Qualifications: Experience working in sub-Saharan Africa, familiarity with agricultural or rural development programs, and comfort scaling operations from 20,000+ tons of inputs to millions of farmer touchpoints.
