The Gist:
Lead Ayuda en Accion’s emergency response in Venezuela following the June 2024 earthquakes, managing operations, partner coordination, and humanitarian programming. Ideal for seasoned humanitarian professionals ready to work in a volatile context.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Coordinate and oversee emergency response implementation, working with technical teams, field staff, and local partners to execute planned activities
- Develop and refine humanitarian strategy, identify new interventions, and ensure needs-based decision-making through continuous context analysis
- Manage project budgets, timelines, donor compliance, and purchasing; supervise local partner organizations and multi-lateral funding requirements
- Represent Ayuda en Accion to government bodies, NGOs, UN agencies, and humanitarian coordination platforms; ensure adherence to international humanitarian standards (Sphere, CHS, IHL)
What They’re Looking For:
- Education: University degree or postgraduate qualification in International Development, Humanitarian Action, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in emergency response or similar roles in international settings, plus demonstrated experience in project coordination and humanitarian coordination.
- Standout Qualifications: Specialized training in protection, livelihoods, WASH, or security awareness (HEAT); experience with cash transfer programming, needs assessments, humanitarian access negotiation, or bilateral/multilateral donor management (ECHO, Spanish Cooperation, UN agencies) is valued.
