The Gist:
Teach self-defense and sports to displaced women in Athens refugee camps and shelters. This unpaid role is for passionate educators committed to preventing gender-based violence.
What You’d Be Doing:
- Teach self-defense, martial arts, or sports classes to displaced women in camps and shelters
- Work independently and adapt programming to participant needs
- Support community outreach and relationship-building with shelter partners
- Assist with media documentation and grant writing (preferred)
What They’re Looking For:
- Experience: Prior experience working with displaced communities or refugee populations is preferred.
- Standout Qualifications: Media management, grant writing, or community networking skills are a plus; holding a driver’s license is helpful.
Good Fit If:
You’re a female instructor (21+) with teaching skills in sport, self-defense, or martial arts who can commit 16+ hours weekly in Athens for at least 6 weeks. You’re self-funded, adaptable, well-organized, and passionate about supporting vulnerable women through movement and empowerment.
